Bon (Blackbox) is a cluster consisting of eight Dell PowerEdge 1950 servers. Each server contains two Intel Xeon E5420 2.5 GHz Quad-Core processors and 8 GB of physical memory, yielding a total core count of 64 and a total memory capacity of 64 GB. Each server has a local 300 GB 15K RPM SAS drive used for operating system and transient file storage. NFS is used to access a Dell PowerVault MD3000i iSCSI RAID array that has two shared partitions: a 5.37 TB partition for user files and a 2 TB partition for shared application files. Blackbox runs Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0 Cluster and has the Condor job queuing and scheduling system from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
